Privacy Policy

Crickingo collects no personal data. There is no account system, no registration form, and no way for us to identify who you are. The table below covers everything involved in running the site:

When you complete a game, your score, streak, and history are saved in your browser's localStorage. This data:

• Stays entirely on your own device — it is never transmitted to us or any server
• Is not linked to any name, email, or identity
• Will be erased if you clear your browser data or use a different device/browser
• Can be cleared at any time by you via your browser settings

We have no ability to access, recover, or restore your localStorage data.

Crickingo uses Firebase Realtime Database (by Google) solely to coordinate tournament puzzle seeds — meaning which puzzle all players in a given tournament session should receive. This ensures every participant plays the same game.

• Only a puzzle key (e.g. wordle-2026-02-25) is stored — nothing personal
• No names, emails, device IDs, or user identifiers are stored in Firebase
• Tournament data may be periodically cleared as it is only needed during active play

Firebase is a Google service and subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Crickingo is hosted on Vercel. Like all web hosting platforms, Vercel automatically collects standard server logs when pages are requested. This may include your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This is standard infrastructure logging done by Vercel — not something we actively collect or analyse. Vercel's data practices are governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy.

We do not use any analytics tools (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.) on Crickingo.

Crickingo does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking scripts. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any similar tools.

The only browser storage we use is localStorage (for your game data), which is not a cookie and cannot be read by us or any third party.

Crickingo is completely free and contains no advertisements. We do not partner with any ad networks and we do not monetise user data in any way.

Crickingo is intended for users aged 13 and older. Since we collect no personal data whatsoever, there is no risk of us knowingly processing data belonging to children. If you have concerns, please contact us.

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. Your only data — your game scores and history — lives entirely in your own browser and is under your full control.

• To delete your scores and history, clear your browser's localStorage or site data
• To opt out of Firebase tournament participation, simply don't join a tournament — regular daily play uses no Firebase at all

Crickingo may contain links to external sites (e.g. social media or news). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their privacy policies before engaging with them.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Crickingo after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
